Editorial Policy
When an article on this site carries Dr. Amjad Shaikh’s name, it means he has read it, corrected it, and approved it for publication. This page explains exactly how that happens.
How our content is created
Every article on this site is developed from Dr. Amjad Shaikh’s recorded clinical explanations and interviews. Our editorial team drafts and structures the content, adds references to published medical research, and Dr. Amjad reviews, corrects, and approves every article before publication. Nothing is published in his name without his sign-off. Articles are re-reviewed periodically, and the review date is shown on each page.
The process, step by step
Every page that carries a byline goes through all five stages.
- Step 1
It starts with Dr. Amjad
Every article on this site is developed from Dr. Amjad Shaikh's own recorded clinical explanations and interviews — the same explanations he gives patients and their families in consultation. The clinical substance, the numbers, and the judgements are his.
- Step 2
Our editorial team drafts and structures it
Our editorial team turns those recordings into a clear, readable article: organising the material, adding headings and summaries, and writing in plain language a patient can follow without a medical background.
- Step 3
Claims are referenced to published research
Where an article states a fact about risks, outcomes, or timelines, we reference it to published medical research and established clinical guidance rather than opinion.
- Step 4
Dr. Amjad reviews, corrects and approves it
The finished article goes back to Dr. Amjad line by line. He corrects anything imprecise, adjusts anything he would not say to a patient, and gives written approval. Nothing is published in his name without his sign-off.
- Step 5
It is dated, and re-reviewed
Every page shows the date of its most recent review. Articles are re-reviewed periodically, and the date is updated when the content is checked again — so you can always see how current the guidance you are reading is.

Factual claims about risks, outcomes and recovery are drawn from published medical research, peer-reviewed literature and established clinical guidelines, alongside Dr. Amjad’s own surgical experience. Where an article describes what happens in his practice specifically, it says so.
Review dates
The “Last reviewed” date near the top of each page is the date Dr. Amjad last checked and approved that page’s current text. Medicine changes, so pages are revisited periodically and the date is updated each time. A page without a recorded review does not carry his byline.
Corrections and feedback
If you believe something on this site is inaccurate, out of date, or unclear, please tell us. We take corrections seriously: reports are passed to Dr. Amjad, and where a correction is needed the page is updated and its review date changed.
